I’m writing to you as Chair of the Tuolumne County Democratic Party and as someone who knows our mountains, our communities, and what it takes to earn trust in the Sierra. And I’m asking you to support Josh Fryday for Lieutenant Governor.
Here’s what matters to me: Josh doesn’t just show up here during campaign season. He and his family visit the Sierras every year. Not for politics. Not for photo ops. Because this is where they choose to spend their time. That tells you something about who he is.
When Governor Newsom tapped Josh to build the California Service Corps, he didn’t just create a program. He built the largest state service force in the nation, with more than 10,000 paid positions putting young people to work on everything from climate resilience to community health to disaster response. It became the model for President Biden’s American Climate Corps. These aren’t just jobs. They are pathways for young Californians to serve their communities and build skills for the future.
That’s the difference between leadership and performance. Josh builds things that last. He doesn’t chase viral moments. He delivers outcomes. That’s the kind of leadership our state needs more of.
His wife, Mollye, is a second grade public school teacher. He served as a Navy JAG officer. He has built programs from scratch and understands what it means to be accountable to people, not just politics. And unlike too many candidates, he actually knows rural California because he has invested time here, year after year.
The California Democratic Party is strongest when we remember who we represent. Working families. Small towns. Teachers. Veterans. People who show up and do the work. Josh represents those values through action, not slogans.
That’s why I’m supporting Josh Fryday at the convention in San Francisco and I hope you’ll join me.
