Fellow Delegates,
I have been part of the California Democratic Party’s State Central Committee for most of the past three decades and had the privilege of chairing the San Mateo County Democratic Party.
Over that time, I’ve worked with and observed hundreds of Democratic candidates. What consistently distinguishes the strongest leaders is not simply clarity of values, but the ability to translate those values into durable institutions and measurable results. That is why I am supporting Josh Fryday for Lieutenant Governor.
As mayor and as California’s Chief Service Officer, Josh has focused on implementation. The California Service Corps he created and now leads has placed thousands of young Californians into paid service roles across our state. It is the largest service force in the nation and has helped shape federal initiatives. That kind of execution — building programs that work at scale — matters.
Josh understands how to assemble coalitions, manage public resources responsibly, and grow programs beyond pilot stages. He has built sustained relationships with educators, veterans, climate leaders, small business owners, and housing advocates across California.
His family life reflects his commitments. His wife, Mollye, is a public school teacher, and he has earned the endorsements of both CTA and CFT. His service as a Navy JAG officer gives him firsthand experience with constitutional principles and national security at a time when those values deserve steady stewardship.
The office of Lieutenant Governor requires judgment, steadiness, and readiness to assume responsibility if called upon. I believe Josh brings the head, heart, and record of execution that the job demands.
I respectfully ask you to join me in supporting Josh Fryday for Lieutenant Governor.
